We don't inherit the world from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.

- american indian proverb

Supporting the environment

As mothers, we know that our influence is so incredibly powerful – little eyes are always watching us! Through immersing ourselves in nature, we purposefully lead a life by example to encourage our children to love and respect our Mother Earth.

There is no denying that we need to include sustainable practices as part of our interactions with our children by engaging them in conversations about matters that impact their natural world.   Not only does this set a foundation for critical thinking, but also empowers them to realise that together, we can generate change.  Collectively we can aim to inspire our little ones to gain a lifelong appreciation that leads to a commitment to keep nature, wildlife and natural resources plentiful, healthy and thriving.

one order = three trees planted

We are committed to reducing our impact and choose to partner with Tree Sisters; an incredible charity focused on restoring the health of our planet through reforestation. Tree Sisters exist to elicit collective responsibility for planetary restoration at the grass roots level with a focus on women and tropical reforestation. They envision a world in which it is normal for everyone to protect and restore our planet and aim to rapidly accelerate tropical reforestation by inspiring and channeling women's nature-based feminine leadership into local and global action.

For every Wander + Wild order received, a donation will be made on your behalf, which will fund the planting of three (yes THREE) trees!

Sustainable Practices

We believe in embracing sustainable practices wherever possible. All Wander + Wild boots come in a beautiful, reusable backpack with rope feature and leather-look details – perfect for packing some extra adventure essentials.  All of the cards including our manifesto, thank you card and care cards that come with your order are printed on recycled card.

We package and ship with minimal waste and use compostable post bags where possible and eco-friendly materials, including eco-friendly brown wrapping paper, eco-friendly tissue paper, paper tape, twine and dried florals. For extra protection, we may include biodegradable bubble wrap for books or re-use bubble wrap that we have received from other packaging. Sometimes the packinging is reused twice before reaching you which may mean it doesn't look pretty, however it's contributing to us reducing our impact!   We’ll always aim to follow best practices where possible and insist that the factories we work with do so when sourcing, manufacturing, packaging and distributing our products.   We collect and take any soft plastics to the 'RedCycle' bins at Woolies.

The compostable (comPOST) courier bags that we use are made from totally biodegradable and compostable materials; corn starch, PLA (synthesised from corn) and PBAT (Polybutyrate Adipate Terephthalate). PLA (Polylactide) is a bio-based, biodegradable material made from renewable plant material (starches such as corn husks, rice straw and wheat straw). Once finished with your comPOST courier bag, simply put it in the compost with your food scraps and garden waste.  It will break down in a compost environment in a non-toxic process.  They’re fine in worm farms and will also be broken down in a bokashi too.

As Australia Post now requires all businesses to measure and record dimensions of parcels before sending, we may need to use packing tape at times on your compostable post bag to decrease the size of your parcel to save on shipping costs. Please ensure you remove any sticky tape from bags before composting.

Wherever possible, we encourage you to reuse our packaging too …  to either send your own parcels or to get crafty with your little loves. Together, let's do our best to reduce landfill and nurture our beautiful Mother Earth.
