NATIONAL RECYCLING WEEK FREE PRINTABLES

NATIONAL RECYCLING WEEK

8th - 14th November 2021

Earth is our home, our family, our friend, our life source.

It is an incredible planet that is also home to the most amazing animals, beaches, mountains, plants, forests and so much more.  BUT – it needs our help!

“Human beings are some of the smartest creatures ever to walk the Earth, but we have also made some big mistakes.  Now it’s time for us to work together to fix those mistakes.”  - Lucy Bell

By starting conversations and making some small (or big) changes in our everyday lives, we can make a big difference and help to protect and work together to repair our precious Mother Earth.

This year is the 25th Anniversary of National Recycling Week!  What a very special milestone for Planet Ark who are the founders of this special week.  To celebrate, we’ve collaborated with an incredible local Sunshine Coast artist to create some new FREE printables for you and your little explorers!  But first, we’d love to share a little more information below with you about this fantastic and very important campaign which aims to help you reduce your waste and recycle right.

This week (and every week) Planet Ark invites you to value your resources, giving them a second life by reducing the need for newly produced resources, reusing quality second-hand items, and recycling. Reducing our waste not only keeps valuable materials out of landfill, it also benefits the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and our need for new materials. Reducing and reusing can also save you money at home and in the workplace and best of all – it helps our precious planet.

REDUCE – REUSE – RECYCLE

FOR A HAPPIER EARTH!

As parents, we know that our influence is so incredibly powerful – little eyes are always watching us! Through immersing ourselves in nature, we purposefully lead a life by example to encourage our children to love and respect our Mother Earth.

There is no denying that we need to include sustainable practices as part of our interactions with our children by engaging them in conversations about matters that impact their natural world.   Not only does this set a foundation for critical thinking, but also empowers them to realise that together, we can generate change.  Collectively we can aim to inspire our little ones to gain a lifelong appreciation that leads to a commitment to keep nature, wildlife and natural resources plentiful, healthy and thriving.

There’s nothing more inspiring and motivating than seeing others take action.  To help you begin the conversation with your children, we’ve created FREE PRINTABLES with the help of local artist and creative, Morgan McCormick from Piñata Pals.  We approached Morgan with our thoughts and she took our ideas and ran with them to draw and digitally create these amazing colouring-in downloads for your little ones.  These printables focus on the first 3R’s – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and have many beautiful messages within the illustrations.   Make a start with your little ones today by downloading our FREE printables by clicking the links in red below.
